HH Pedda Jeeyar Swamiji Tirunakshatram (birthday) celebrated on 21st Aug, Sunday, in a grand manner at Sri Vasudasramam, Nadigaddapalem, in the presence of HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar swamiji and Sri Ahobila Jeeyar swamiji. Abhishekam is performed to Pedda Jeeyar swamiji and HH explained the contributions of Pedda Jeeyar swamiji to the society and also shared his sweet memories at early age with him.

Samatha Snanam (Holy Bath with All) during Krishna Pushkaram in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Krishna Pushkaram resembles Kumbha Mela and is a festival of River Krishna, which occurs once in 12 years. The Pushkaram is observed for a period of 12 days and lakhs of people from all sections of society take holy bath in the river.

19th July – Guru Purnima or Vyasa Purnima

Full moon day during Ashadha month is known as Guru Purnima day. Traditionally this day is reserved for Guru Puja or Guru Worship. On this day disciples offer Puja or pay respect to their Gurus. Guru refers to guide who enlighten disciples by his knowledge and teachings.

Guru Purnima is also known as Vyasa Purnima and this day is commemorated as birth anniversary of Veda Vyasa.

I worship periyazhwar who proclaimed the essence of vedham (without learning it from an Acharya methodically – he was directly blessed by bhagavan with divine blemish less knowledge) to win over pouch containing gold at the pandiya king’s assembly and who is the direct father-in-law of sri ranganathan (due to him being the father of Andal nachiyar) and who is the leader of brahmanas.
