He was in a disturbed mood when sage Na:rada chanced to visit him. On being questioned by Na:rada, Ve:davya:sa admitted that the cause of his disturbance and agitation is due to the fact that he extensively wrote about the fratricidal war (of The Maha:bha:ratha).

]]> The great sage Ve:davya:sa was not satisfied even after writing the longest poem and one of the two ithiha:sas, The Maha:bha:ratha. He was in a disturbed mood when sage Na:rada chanced to visit him. On being questioned by Na:rada, Ve:davya:sa admitted that the cause of his disturbance and agitation is due to the fact that he extensively wrote about the fratricidal war (of The Maha:bha:ratha). To this, Narada advised him to write exclusively on the glory and exploits of the Supreme Lord. This would restore him his lost mental peace and fulfilment he had longed for.  Thus was born the great pura:na as musical and devotional epic poem ‘Sri:mad Bha:gavatam’ composed by Ve:davya:sa.

‘Lessons Of Devotion From The Bha:gavatam’ contains the stories of devotees such as Dhruva, Akru:ra, Suda:ma and many more from the Bha:gavatam, and the lessons we can learn from them.
