Constant reading or listening to the Ra:ma:yana moulds one into a perfect human being. Rama’s benevolence, love and care towards all creatures may it be Jata:yu – a bird, Guha – a boatman, Sugri:va – a monkey king, Vibhi:shana – a demon king, Sabari – a tribal woman, squirrels, etc. teaches us how a true human being should be.
