How to prepare Mirchi ka saalan ?

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 10 -12 green banana chillies/ bhaji mirchi (not the hot variety)
  • tamarind –  half a lemon sized ball (soaked in 1/2 cup of water)
  • 1/2 tsp -mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp -cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp -carom seeds
  • 1/2 tsp -chilly powder
  • 1/2 tsp -turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp -garam masala powder
  • a pinch of asafoetida
  • 7-9 curry leaves
  • 3 tbsp -oil
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp -chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/4 cup of roasted peanuts
  • 1/4 cup of grated coconut (fresh or dessicated)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp of sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp of grated ginger
