Dhokla

How to prepare Dhokla ?

Dhokla is a traditional dish from Gujarat which is a great Vegan snack

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups medium semolina
  • 2 tbsp chickpea flour (besan)
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 2 finely chopped green chillies
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 1 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups yogurt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1-2 tbsp water
  • 2 tsp ENO (Fruit salt)

      Tempering / Tadaka

  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp paprika powder
  • 2 tsp desiccated coconut powder
  • 1/4 bunch chopped coriander leaves

Procedure:

  • Prepare a steamer/pressure cooker with water about an inch from the bottom boil it on medium high heat.
