WHAT is that we are doing?
Group of volunteers are coming together to organise a wonderful badminton tournament to support a cause.
WHY is that we are doing?
Cause we are supporting: HH (His Holiness Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji’s) unique vision about empowering the Visually Challenged children to NOT depend on scribes for writing exams has paved way for this extra-ordinary institution. Terms and conditions:
The badminton category will only proceed if at least 10 teams are registered.
The advanced category winners’ team will receive £200, and the runners’ team will receive £100 as a cash prize.
- Matches in the main categories will be played with goose feather shuttles.
- The Parent & Child category will be played with Yonex Mavis 300 plastic shuttles.
- Cash prizes will be awarded only to players in the Advanced category.
- Other categories may receive trophies, medals, or other recognitions as decided by the organisers.
- The tournament will follow a knockout format (round robin method).
- Groups and match fixtures will be drawn randomly.
- Each court will be assigned an umpire, whose decisions shall be final and binding.
- In unavoidable situations concerning line calls, the umpire may consult players before making the final decision.
- Parent and Child is open category and they play with Plastic shuttles.
- In the Parent and Child category, the child must be under 16 years of age”
- For Beginners/ Intermediate category Badminton England A-G grade players and country players, along with kids with Badminton England A-G grade are not permitted.
- All participants will receive a certificate of participation.
- Players under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
- Participants are expected to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship and fair play.
- The organisers reserve the right to disqualify any player or team for misconduct or violation of rules.
- The organisers will not be held liable for any loss of personal belongings.
- All personal information collected will be handled in compliance with applicable data privacy laws.
- Data will only be used for tournament management and communication purposes.
- The organisers reserve the right to modify rules, schedules, or formats if necessary.
- Decisions made by the organising committee and referees will be final and binding.
- Photos will be taken and used for social media posts. If you have any objections please let us know and your photos will not be posted.
Match Format:
– All matches are played up to *21 points* (no extension) except for *semi-finals and finals*.
– Semi-finals and finals may extend up to *30 points*.
Match Timing:
– Teams must report promptly when called. ⏰
– If a team fails to show up within *5 minutes, the opponent will be declared the WINNER.
Group Stage:
– Teams will compete against all other teams in their respective groups. ⚔️
Tie-Breaker:
– In case of a tie on points in the group stage, the winner of the *head-to-head match* will advance to the next stage. 🏆
Semi-finals & Finals Format:
– The format will either be:
a) Best of 3 games (each game up to 15 points, without extension), or
b) A single set up to 30 points (without extension).
– The final format will be decided *on the day of the finals. 🤝
